Frequently Asked Questions

What type of database is used? Tracker is a client server application. SQL server database and MINDS server image data reside on Win2003 servers.

What operating system can the application run on? System runs on NT or XP

What are system requirements to use the application? Windows NT or XP, PC with 300 MHz processor, 128 MG RAM, 300 MG disk space available on C: drive

What are hardware requirements? Monitors: 19" or 21" monitors for scanning station, 17" flat screens for viewing are acceptable. Scanners: 1) high volume sheet feeders, and 2) inexpensive flatbad for low-volume or de-centralized use. Printers: enough memory to handle TIFF formats

What are scanning station requirements? Scanning with OCR(Optical Character Recognition) requires Pentium IV processor, 1 GHZ, 258 MG RAM

How long does it take to implement the system? Approx. 90 days

What type of technical expertise is required to set up this system? COIS provides technical expertise, unit will need a hardware support person and system administrator

Is there any assistance in setting up the system? Yes, COIS provides assistance.

Is there a group that would be responsible for supporting the application? Yes, COIS. Online help desk system, CHOPS.

Who handles updating software based on changes or modifications to the application? Updates go in enhancements queue maintained by COIS.

Are there any costs associated with the software such as license or implementation fees? Yes. Expect charge of $2500-$4000 to get application setup (work done by COIS, ASD, CCS, AND DBA's).

Is there any costs associated with the software, what is the purchasing agreement? Annual system operating costs, recharged by COIS, should be less than $5000 per year (servers, support staff, software licenses). Some customization of software is possible during setup. Future enhancements can be developed on a time and material basis.

What browsers are compatible for eTracker? Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, or Netscape
